Bathroom Remodel
Remodeling Need
In addition to a kitchen makeover, the owner of this 1958 Alexandria home faced the challenge of having only one full bath on the main floor to serve three bedrooms. Seeking a solution, she envisioned transforming the layout from one and a half baths to two. Prioritizing long-term living and resale value, the project aimed to find a harmonious balance between utility and investment.
Design Solution
Upon inspecting the space, our project manager uncovered plumbing issues within the front wall, necessitating additional foundation work. Our meticulous process allowed us to identify and address these potential challenges upfront. Consequently, when finalizing the scope, we seamlessly allocated extra funds within the budget for these anticipated issues. Paul played a pivotal role in researching effective solutions well before the project commenced.
The transitional-style bathroom showcases a shaker-style vanity (Aspire Wellborn cabinetry in a Divinity finish) topped with sleek black 3CM Silestone countertops. The space includes a double vanity, a walk-in shower with a glass enclosure, and chrome fixtures. The stone floor and wall treatments add a luxurious touch, and a separate built-in tub enhances the overall design.
Result
The entire project proceeded seamlessly, earning us a commendable 4-star Google review, an exceptional rating from someone who rarely awards 5 stars. The client was particularly impressed by Paul, Schroeder Design Build, and the final outcome.
“The design team is knowledgeable and willing to work within budget. The project site manager was very good at attention to detail. Tradesmen did great work, especially the tile installer. The only problem I dealt with was lack of clean-up. Since it was an older home there were issues that contributed to a messy situation. Overall the home remodel looks great.”
