Schroeder Design Build Community Impact
Celebrating 40 Years With 40 Acts of Kindness
When you remodel with Schroeder, you’re helping us strengthen the community we call home.
A Legacy Built on Community—and a Future Focused on Giving Back
For four decades, Schroeder Design Build has been committed to more than exceptional remodeling—we’ve been committed to Northern Virginia. Our story began with a simple belief: great homes are built through trust, service, and meaningful relationships.
Throughout our history, giving back has been part of who we are.
In our 35th year, we completed
35 Acts of Kindness.
In 2022, we received the PRO Mid-Atlantic Community Service Award.
In 2024, our peer group at Remodelers Advantage honored us with the
Spirit of Giving Award.
As we enter our 40th year, we’re expanding our commitment to service—and inviting our clients and partners to be part of the impact.
40 Acts of Kindness: Our Promise to Northern Virginia
Schroeder Design Build is celebrating 40 years by completing 40 Acts of Kindness, now through 2026. Each act represents gratitude for the four decades of homeowners, partners, and team members who have shaped who we are today.
These acts will span five categories that reflect the heart of our company:
Community Giving
Serving local nonprofits, supporting families, and strengthening neighborhoods.
Client Appreciation
Meaningful gestures that celebrate the homeowners who trust us with their homes.
Employee-Led Kindness
Acts of giving inspired, chosen, and led by our team.
Trade Partner & Vendor Collaboration
Working together with our valued partners to create community impact.
Education & Legacy
Sharing knowledge, mentorship, and outreach to inspire the next generation.
Every act is intentional. Every act is meaningful. And every act honors a community that has supported us for 40 years.
Your Remodel Makes a Difference
One of the most meaningful parts of this initiative? Every client becomes part of the impact.
For each approved design or construction contract, you’ll have the opportunity to select a charity, and Schroeder Design Build will make a donation on your behalf.
Health, Happiness & Hooves (HHH)
Supporting therapy animals and emotional wellness programs.
Veterans Organization
Supporting veterans, active-duty military, youth development, and community service throughout NoVa.
Susan G. Komen
Supporting breast cancer research, education, and life-saving patient care.
Food for Others
Providing food assistance to neighbors facing hunger and food insecurity.
American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
Advancing mental health awareness, education, and suicide prevention efforts.
Literacy Tutoring Collaboration
Providing intensive reading support to help students in Northern Virginia read and succeed.
It’s simple:
When you remodel with Schroeder, your project helps give back to someone in need.
Remodel With Purpose
While our award-winning design-build process brings clarity, craftsmanship, and reliability to your project, our community commitment adds something equally important:
Your remodel becomes part of a larger story—one about generosity, impact, and connection.
Homeowners tell us they choose Schroeder because:
✓ They value working with a company rooted in the community
✓ They want their investment to help others
✓ They feel proud to support a remodeler recognized for service
✓ They appreciate a team driven by purpose—not just projects
This is remodeling that feels good, and does good.
Bringing the Community Together for Good
As part of our 40 Acts of Kindness initiative, Schroeder Design Build is partnering with Health, Happiness & Hooves and American Legion Post 177 to host a community Chili Cookoff Fundraiser on October 3. Together, we’re raising support for veterans, therapeutic animal experiences, and meaningful community connection through a fun-filled afternoon of food, entertainment, and giving back.
Follow Our Progress: 40 Acts of Kindness Tracker
We’ll be updating this page throughout the year as each act is completed, highlighting the stories, people, and organizations impacted along the way.
