Kitchen Remodel
Remodeling Need
In addition to a primary bathroom makeover, the homeowner of this 1958 Alexandria home sought a kitchen remodel to overcome its cramped, dark atmosphere. Initially considering a primary suite addition, she wanted to expand, brighten, and create an open-concept living space. With a focus on long-term living and resale value, the project aimed to strike a balance between utility and investment.
Solution
Collaborating with the Schroeder design team, the homeowner chose an open concept for their kitchen, opting to eliminate the dividing wall to bring more light into the high-trafficked areas of the home. The kitchen features white Wellborn cabinetry in a Divinity finish, topped with black 3CM Silestone, and adorned with a white classic tile backsplash. The redesigned island offers extra seating, while the overall layout prioritizes increased functional workspace and enhanced storage capacity.
Result
The entire project proceeded seamlessly, earning us a commendable 4-star Google review, an exceptional rating from someone who rarely awards 5 stars. The client was particularly impressed by Paul, Schroeder Design Build, and the final outcome.
Project Location
“The design team is knowledgeable and willing to work within budget. The project site manager was very good at attention to detail. Tradesmen did great work, especially the tile installer. The only problem I dealt with was lack of clean-up. Since it was an older home there were issues that contributed to a messy situation. Overall the home remodel looks great.”
